Mak Tiri is like Nelle Porter in Ally McBeal, Veronica Palmer in Better Of Ted and Elizabeth North (Lizzie Bear) in Scandal. The characters are like very work driven, strong, insensitive, slightly chilly. She maintains a fierce and unapproachable workplace demeanor, and everyone have a deep fear of her. She seems cold and calculating.

I’m confused. I don’t know my attraction is because…these are the characters that I ideally want to be or I am skewed to attracted to them…

My first hire feels like my first child.
I wonder if Celtic feels that way…hahaha…
Like me, Celtic & I have work with many retailers.
The only thing that differentiate us...is that Celtic have been stuck doing the same categories for the past 12 years.
While I have been agile and seamlessly in doing many categories.
It somehow makes feel that I am empowered and ready to be the GM?
Hahaha...
I think that I am bright enough, a little bit intelligent, sparky, have the personality and have my own ideas about how I want to lead the business.
Well, I will just wait and see...I'm so excited of God's plans for me.

So, the first thing that God did was…Stewart told me that Zila will be park under me…maybe give Zila one of my smaller categories so I can have the time to focus on the bigger categories. Well, I should be happy about it right…I don’t know. I kind of need an assistant more than anything else at the moment…filling up forms takes time, follow-up on issues with the suppliers & the store team takes time. Like the other day when I had this conversation with Stewart…Stewart doesn’t have the time to wash the household clothes, I say that there is a thing that call the washing machine. But then Stewart replied back…yeah, but you still need to put the clothes into the machine, when the machine is done with the cleaning, you need to take it out and put it to dry. So, this theory is also the same thing…I need an assistant to follow up on the paperwork. It’s a process.

Nonetheless – THANK YOU GOD, PRAISE TO THE LORD, BLESS YOU GOD – let’s see what is God’s second step is.

Something is brewing in the retail industry in Malaysia, I can feel God is on to something. For the very first time, I sat quietly and did not trigger anything. Just waiting for God’s plans for me.

The English is on a retrenchment mode again, this time the target is 600 employees, most likely from the store level. At G13, the new Foot Operating Module have been introduce, they are going to embrace the English culture which I am quite surprise with such a decision. But it also indicates that the English system is indeed a proven system. While here with The Japanese, Mrs. Simon is leaving, the whole Small Appliance Team is leaving; 5 of them but the HR Department is only allowing the team to hire only 1. Thus, a re-structuring is on the cards. Now, the top management wants Stewart to take out one Division Manager from Team Baz. For sure Stewart will not remove Celtic, Stewart needs MT, the only one left is Jonas. If no Division Manager, then Stewart has to give away 2 Category Managers.

Well, my idea to Stewart (I have not discuss this with Stewart yet) will be like this…Celtic remains where Celtic is now. Jonas to take up Mrs. Simon portfolio. I want to be park under MT…so MT have to take over Jonas’s portfolio while retaining her current portfolio. I don’t want a promotion…just let Stationery, Boys Toys, Bicycle, Camping, Sports & Nautism be park under me. There, it plays to my strength and is align with my passion…hahaha…

The Man Who Knew Infinity

If I am seeing it from a friend’s point of view…the feeling is still ok…but if I am seeing it from an outsider’s point of view, then...there is where the frustration kicks in.

Celtic’s other half…well, the other half is still working with a company…but the other half is also doing some side business as well. This is where Celtic steps in and helps. Sort of like mixing business with pleasure. Well, I don’t denied that at the very beginning stage of entrepreneurship, the other half might not know anybody and Celtic is a well-known brand, knows everybody, have a strong supplier network and also the credibility factor. So, basically Celtic is helping the other half to get contacts…Celtic also confess to me about it…they are looking into buying a factory as well…Celtic said that Celtic did not invest in it, Celtic just gets reward from the other half. And according to Celtic, there is no conflict of interest between this main job and the side income job. Well, does Stewart know about this? It’s unprofessional. It’s a I – use – you – you – use – me – kind of relationship. If Celtic is happy about it, then it's fine with me but it is still unprofessional.

And Celtic really does nothing at work. Yet, Celtic mention that Celtic can’t sleep well at night, need to pop in sleeping pills, suffer from anxiety…yeah, it have nothing to do with the actual work in the office but it’s the side income work. Celtic come into the office in the morning, play games on her handphone…the other half call, Celtic provide some consultation…Celtic does some work…then it’s lunch time…lunch is from 12.30 till 1.30 but Celtic only walks in at 2pm. Do some work, dispensing some advise…give some instructions…on the phone again, then go home. What the...

I mean, I use to have very hands on bosses from Leonardo to Ursula to Marcus to Tommy. Even Rufus is also hands on as well. We divide the work equally, we work as a team as time is precious...when I am busy...they help to fill up the forms, they help to check on things, they help to discuss with suppliers on Trade Plans…but this Celtic…speechless...

Of course…I on the hand…gets to portray…as another alternative of leadership to Stewart…but still…you know…at times, I do appreciate another pair of hands.

Cottle Coffee

Fify said that MT works very fast, her hands are very fast on the computer keyboards. MT is very focus too. Henry commented that MT is willing to teach, but have to mumble first…but according to Fify, MT was just willing to share. I don’t know. Henry doesn’t seem to like MT, according to Henry…MT seems to like to susahkan Henry with many things. MT is not a team player. But Fify seems to think that MT is good…who is right here? I am even more curious to find out more about MT...

Of Brain, Bugs & Bytes

So, yesterday was Mrs. Simon’s last day with us. We had a simple cake ceremony celebration for Mrs. Simon. Since I have a big pack of tissue…I sponsor that. Ok…once everything ends…we bersurai from the pantry…then MT saw me holding the tissue pack…so MT ask me whether she can take one…I say yeah sure…and MT thank me by saying Terima Kasih. Err…can’t she just say Thank You…I don’t know…I just can’t seem to response to her verbally but I can do that via WatsApp messages. And yeah, sometimes her response stun me and I cannot react in time…hahaha…

MT & I share 1 same supplier. So, on that particular morning, MT was suppose to meet with that supplier first, then baru my turn.

Earlier on, I have another supplier’s appointment. So, I went outside first. Then our supplier came. I saw MT came out. I saw MT taking out her mobile, assuming that she is going to call the supplier to ask where are they. I saw MT even checking out the waiting room as well. Then, as I was standing up talking to my another supplier and knowing that the supplier that we have in common is sitting a few cubicles behind us…and I saw MT, MT saw me…I directed MT to the back.

I thought once MT’s meeting with the supplier is over…it will be the supplier who will prompt me, mana tahu, it was MT who prompt me. I am surprise with that :)

Yes, I am still stalking MT…so another incident…

(1) MT walks into the pantry…so, as usual…I follow behind.
(2) MT was filling up her flask with water from the water dispensing machine. There were 2 machines in the pantry, situated next to each other.
(3) I stop a few steps behind MT. I didn’t go to the second cooler, knowing that I will be even closer.
(4) And surprisingly…MT is also a very sensitive or highly aware person. When she sense that someone (which was me) standing behind her, she did turn around and take a glance over.
(5) Once MT was done, it was my turn to fill up my water bottle.
(6) And this is the surprisingly part…on top on one of the water dispensing machine…there was some food in PP containers, probably leftovers…MT pointed them to me…I went – what the…why did MT pointed to me for…to indicate what? I’m a greedy pig who eats a lot? Really what the…
