My must-have or favorite CNY snacks :)
Kuih Kapit or Love Letters – this fragile, crispy biscuit is usually folded into quarters or rolled up and is aptly nick-named love letters for its appearance.
Bak Kwa – non halal, arguably one of the most iconic snacks among the Chinese community. Bak Kwa is a salty-sweet dried meat made with a traditional Chinese preservation technique. Pork is typically used to make bak kwa, even though chicken bak kwa is also available these days too.
Kuih Bangkit – they are delicate white biscuits made mainly from tapioca flour, coconut milk and pandan, leaving a truly melt in your mouth experience.
Pineapple Tarts – they can be found throughout the year, but CNY is an occasion where we see more of them.
Keropok Udang or Prawn Crackers – this crunchy snack is especially popular during this time of the year. It is quite addictive and you might finish off the whole packet before you know it.
Peanut Cookies - although these are not exclusive to any time of the year, but it’s in my top list yo.
