Acceptance

I prayed for the ability to accept whatever the outcome of this night would be.

How would I response if my prayers were not answered as I wanted?

At times like this – in harsh and unrelenting circumstances – there is no better example for us than our Lord Jesus in Gethsemane, where He modeled a key element in prayer – acceptance of the father’s purposes, no matter how testing or difficult those purposes may be. A careful consideration of our Lord’s experience in the garden, where He wrestled with the cross itself, exposes some important principles for a meaningful pathway to acceptance in our own prayer life: Honesty, Determination, Commitment & Resolve.
