My Splendid Life

And yes…I also have this 2017 Life Satisfaction Board…things to do in order to achieve Life Satisfaction – it’s really is the bigger picture of life…and requires lots of hard work…and my discipline, focus, consistency & productivity have been quite like a yo – yo. So, many of it, it’s quite unattainable yet. Plus, there were some areas that I am still clueless about…hahaha…

A satisfied life must have Personal Growth, Purpose In Life, Well being, Self Acceptance, Self Discipline, Positive Emotions (fewer negative emotions), Positive Relations / Positive Relationships, Meaning, Engagement, Achievement / Accomplishment, Environment Mastery and Intellectual Curiosity.

Girl Goes Forward

At the beginning of this year…I armed myself with a Planner and an Organizer…with the objective to get myself more organize…and James was indeed right about one thing…when you start jotting down or planning your activities…and when you start looking back and planning ahead…you actually find that time doesn’t move so fast at all because now you can quantified them much better.

So, as we heading towards the end of 2017 and entering a new 2018…I am going to do lots of recap base on my 2017 LifeBoard. My 2017 LifeBoard actually chronicles the areas that I want to grow in, that I want to be fruitful & productive in and also the stuffs that I want to experience. And yes, 2017 have been quite an adventure for me. THANK YOU GOD, PRAISE TO THE LORD, BLESS YOU GOD…it has been a very good year for me. My 2018 LifeBoard; more or less will be the same. And I would like to continue to pray that God will continue to steer me well in all of the areas in my life.

In my earlier life; the 20s…I wanted to experience everything! I experimented, explored and exposed myself to so much! But now (I’m sure it comes with age) I am so precious with my time, my mind, my energies. I try to focus on things that are important. God, families, friends, fitness, finances, projects, passions…and how I’m going to live the next 40 - 50 years of my life!

My 2017 LifeBoard covers – Family Events, Friends Gathering, Church Activities, Spanish Classes, Gym Sessions, Marathons, Cycling, Hanging out with new people, Housework, Cooking & Food, Readings, Hobbies, Blogging, Photography, Movies & Music, Opportunities, Adventures, Self-discovery and Me Time.

And in each segment, I will do a re-cap of the activities that have taken place throughout the whole year…after all, this blog will serves as my memory keeper for many years to come.

Sweet Company

The Lord is our close and faithful companion throughout our entire life. He will guide us in our deepest struggles, forgive our sin, hear each silent prayer and shoulder the burdens we cannot bear.

We can enjoy His sweet company today.

Dear Lord, thank You for giving us Your spirit as our constant companion.

Out Of The Deep

After experiencing God’s aid in battle against the Philistines, David likens his rescue to being drawn out of deep waters. David’s very life and that of his men was in serious danger from his enemies. God buoyed David as he was drowning in disaster. While lifeguards are paid to assure the safety of swimmers, God; on the other hand, saved David because of His delight in him. My heart leaps for joy when I realize that God doesn’t watch over and protect me because He’s obliged to but because He wants to.

When we feel overcome by the troubles of life, we can rest in the knowledge that God, our Lifeguard sees our struggle and because of His delight in us, watches over and protects us.

Thank You, Lord, for seeing my struggles and standing ready to save me. Help me to trust Your rescuing love more fully.

God delights in saving His children.

to be bored and to tinker

I feel you Julian…hahaha…what happen was, after today’s S&M meeting…Julian from the Supply Chain Department came to Marcus, Mr. Horton’s Secretary & myself…recently Julian have a new boss; the new Supply Chain Director…so, Julian was expressing that the Supply Chain Director is very smart…gather all the data, then can re-build a new database to identify the problems…both Marcus & Mr. Horton’s Secretary commented that this is good, at least there is someone who is motivated, energetic, keen to keep moving and have a sense of ownership. Julian agrees but feel small lor…the boss seems to be smarter and the Supply Chain team doesn’t look like it lor…hahaha…then, Mr. Horton’s Secretary proposed lor…if that is the case, ask the director to teach the team lor…ok, see if I do the same thing…whether this Mr. Horton’s Secretary will give the same response or not…hahaha...I understand how Julian feel…I also feel very small…like that day also…running the BTS report…this Jecca gave the list…and then vlookup and put a BTS indicator in the worksheet…so I tak perasan mah…why can’t just give a proper clean list in the first place…I also don’t understand…so Marcus spotted lor…because my numbers keep on cannot tally with Jecca’s figues…sigh…never mind…continue to learn, continue to move forward…THANK YOU GOD, PRAISE TO THE LORD, BLESS YOU GOD.

A Joyful Heart

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs…enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. Why? For the Lord is good and His love endures forever.

Dear Lord, give us thankful hearts to praise You, because You are good and all that You do is good. Your love endures forever!

A Day To Rest

Six days do your work, but on the seventh day do not work.

We can approach our day of rest with expectancy and creativity, welcoming the chance to worship and do something that feeds our souls, which will vary according to our preferences. Some will like to play games; some to garden; some to share a meal with friends and family; some to take an afternoon nap.

How can we rediscover the beauty and richness of setting apart a day to rest, if that’s missing from our lives?

Lord God, in You we will find our rest. Thank You that You’ve created us both to work and to rest. Please help us to find the right rhythm for our lives.

In our faith and service, rest is a as important as work.

A Time For Everything

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.

King Solomon addresses through a series of opposites how there is a time for everything, a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot. Perhaps King Solomon in these verses despairs at what he sees as a meaningless cycle of life. But he also acknowledges the role of God in each season, that our work is a gift of God and that everything God does will endure forever.

We know, however, that the Lord promises to be with us in every season of our life. We can count on His presence and find that our purpose is in walking with Him.

Lord God, You lead me through the seasons, and whether I’m laughing or crying I know You are with me.

God gives us the seasons of our lives.

A Reason To Sing

Enemies were heading toward the people of Judah. Alarmed, King Jehoshaphat called everyone together. He led the community in intense prayer. They didn’t eat or drink, but only prayed. We don’t know what to do, but our eyes are on You. The next day, they set out. They weren’t led by their fiercest warriors, but by their choir. They believed God’s promise that they would be delivered without having to fight at all. While they sang and walked toward the conflict, their enemies fought each other! By the time God’s people reached the battlefield, the fighting had ended. God saved His people as they marched by faith toward the unknown, singing His praises.

God encourages us to praise Him for good reasons. Whether or not we are marching into battle, praising God has power to change our thoughts, our hearts and our lives.

God, we praise Your everlasting love & faithfulness! You protect and guide us and we trust You with our lives.

Rings & Grace

So many times we remember our sins and feel we must do something to earn God’s forgiveness. But God has said it is by grace, not by works, that we are saved.

We may still feel sad about our past, but we need to trust His promise and believe His grace and forgiveness is real through faith in Jesus Christ. This news should lead us to thankfulness and the assurance faith brings. When God forgives, He forgets.

Dear Lord, thank You for Your grace and Your offer of salvation and forgiveness through Christ. Thank You for this free gift that is not based on anything I can do.

Grace and forgiveness are unearned gifts.

Everything We Need

I often feel completely inadequate for the tasks I face. Whether it’s teaching Sunday school, advising a friend, at work, family & friends relationships, personal development…the challenge often seems to be larger than my ability.

God has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

Our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ is the source of the wisdom, patience and power we need to honor God, help others and meet the challenges of today. Through Him, we can overcome our hesitations and feelings of inadequacy.

In every situation, He has given us everything we need to serve and honor Him.

Thank You, Father for giving me everything I need to serve You and encourage others today. May I honor You in all I do.

God promises to provide everything we need to honor Him with our lives.

Are You Being Prepared?

The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and…the bear will rescue me.

Young David persevered through an experience we might well call unpleasant. When Israel was challenged to send someone to fight Goliath, no one was brave enough to step up to the task. No one but David. King Saul was reluctant to send him to fight, but David explained that as a shepherd he had fought and killed a lion and a bear for the sake of the sheep. Confidently he stated, The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and…the bear will rescue me from the hand of Philistine.

Being a shepherd didn’t earn David much respect, but it prepared him to fight Goliath and eventually become Israel’s greatest king. We may be in difficult circumstances, but through them God might be preparing us for something greater!

Lord, help me to hold on during the unpleasant times in my life right now; knowing that You may be preparing me for something greater.

God uses present circumstances to prepare us for the future.

10 Ways To Spot A Truly Exceptional Employee

Personality traits form at an early age and are fixed by early adulthood. Many important things about you change over the course of your lifetime, but your personality isn’t one of them.

They’re willing to delay gratification. One thing an exceptional employee never says is, “That’s not in my job description.” Exceptional employees work outside the boundaries of job descriptions. They’re neither intimidated nor entitled; instead of expecting recognition or compensation to come first, they forge ahead in their work, confident that they’ll be rewarded later but unconcerned if they’re not.

They can tolerate conflict. While exceptional employees don’t seek conflict, they don’t run away from it either. They’re able to maintain their composure while presenting their positions calmly and logically. They’re able to withstand personal attacks in pursuit of the greater goal and never use that tactic themselves.

They focus. Student pilots are often told, “When things start going wrong, don’t forget to fly the plane.” Plane crashes have resulted from pilots concentrating so hard on identifying the problem that they flew the plane into the ground. Eastern Airlines Flight 401 is just one example: The flight crew was so concerned about the landing gear being down that they didn’t realize they were losing altitude until it was too late, despite alarms going off in the cockpit. Exceptional employees understand the principle of “Just fly the plane.” They don’t get distracted by cranky customers, interoffice squabbles, or switch to a different brand of coffee. They can differentiate between real problems and background noise; therefore, they stay focused on what matters.

They’re judiciously courageous. Exceptional employees are willing to speak up when others are not, whether it’s to ask a difficult (or “embarrassingly” simple) question or to challenge an executive decision. However, that’s balanced with common sense and timing. They think before they speak and wisely choose the best time and place to do so.

They’re in control of their egos. Exceptional employees have egos. While that’s part of what drives them, they never give their egos more weight than what is deserved. They’re willing to admit when they’re wrong and willing to do things someone else’s way, whether it’s because the other way is better or it’s important to maintain team harmony.

They’re never satisfied. Exceptional employees have unparalleled convictions that things can always be better—and they’re right. No one is ever done growing, and there is no such thing as “good enough” when it comes to personal improvement. No matter how well things are going, exceptional employees are driven to improve, without forgetting to give themselves a healthy pat on the back.

They recognize when things are broken and fix them. Whether it’s a sticky desk drawer or an inefficient, wasteful process affecting the cash flow of the entire department, exceptional employees don’t walk past problems. “Oh, it’s been that way forever,” simply isn’t in their vocabulary. They see problems as issues to be fixed immediately; it’s that simple.

They’re accountable. If you’re a manager trying to decipher a bungled report, “It’s not my fault” is the most irritating phrase in the English language. Exceptional employees are accountable. They own their work, their decisions, and all of their results—good or bad. They bring their mistakes to management’s attention rather than hoping no one will find out. They understand that managers aren’t out to assign blame; they’re out to get things done.

They’re marketable. “Marketable” can mean many things. Inside the organization, it means “likeable.” Exceptional employees are well liked by co-workers. They have integrity and leadership skills (even if they’re not in an official leadership position) that people respond to. Externally, it means they can be trusted to represent the brand well. Managers know they can send these employees out to meet with clients and prospects without worrying about what they’ll say or do.

They neutralize toxic people. Dealing with difficult people is frustrating and exhausting for most. Exceptional employees control their interactions with toxic people by keeping their feelings in check. When they need to confront a toxic person, they approach the situation rationally. They identify their own emotions and don’t allow anger or frustration to fuel the chaos. They also consider the difficult person’s standpoint and are able to find solutions and common ground. Even when things completely derail, emotionally intelligent people are able to take the toxic person with a grain of salt to avoid letting him or her bring them down.

Take notice of what’s not mentioned: coding skills, years of experience, business degrees, etc. These things matter, but they won’t make you exceptional.

7 habits that every team can learn from MINIONS

Stay curious, stay foolish
Can you recall the gaze of excitement whenever Gru comes up with some new plan or a new task for the minions? They are always curious to know what if? This is the reason that they are not afraid to try something new. And, that’s why their life was such a crazy adventure.

Make mistakes, make them often
The fear of making mistakes is the biggest reason why we are afraid to try something new. But this was not the case with the minions. Even if they made a mistake, they enjoyed the outcome. They were not afraid to try something new! It was because of the crazy experiments they did that they were able create some amazing devices and innovations for their boss. Inspire your team to be crazy enough to break the rules and think out-of-the-box. And, you will see the new vigor in the team to create something unique and innovative!

Happiness was their most powerful weapon
We are the most productive when we are happy. And, minions were always happy. Even in the saddest of moments they knew how to remain happy. Perhaps this is the reason that they were able to make the most of their skill. Everything they were assigned to by Gru, they took the challenge happily. Ever thought about the happiness index of your team? Are they happy working the way they are? Your team’s happiness index can be a big judge of how productive they are. If you have not thought about it, think again and you might come up with a new perspective of leading your team.

Serious - are you kidding me?
When you are working as part of the team, you got to have fun. That’s what the minions used to do. They never took things seriously. From cracking jokes at each other to finding fun at the stuff they used to do - the minions never took things seriously. And, that’s what made them so cool! Inculcate the habit of ‘taking things as they come’ in your team.Don’t let success get to the head and failure break down the morale. Don’t be too serious. Enjoy every minute you are working and make sure that your team does the same. This will lay the foundation for a team that can take your business to places.

The attitude to never say never
Amidst all this, however, they never said never. Whether it was flying thousands of miles to come back to Gru (in the recently concluded movie Despicable Me 3) to getting rid of those evil minions (mutated) in Despicable Me 2 - they never gave up. In the end, their togetherness prevailed and they were able to come out on top. Sometimes we take our failures and small setbacks to the heart. However big those setbacks are, don’t let them damage your determination. If you as a leader are showing negative attitude, how can you expect the team to remain positive? This is THE ONE and the most important lesson that a team and the team leader can learn from minions.

Once a team, always a team
The biggest lesson that the Minions give to the teams is that ‘once a team, always a team’. They had their differences with Gru, but in the end they knew that it is because of him that the minions had a purpose in life. Same is the case with a team. Without a leader, a team is nothing. Being part of the team means you are always there to back their team members - you are never supposed to leave them alone. Wherever they went, whatever they did, minions were always together as a team. And, so should you.

Eat bananas and be productive!
You may laugh as much as you want, but the fact of the matter is that eating bananas actually makes you productive! It is the complete fruit that comes power packed with all the nutrients our body needs. Don’t take it too literal, the crux of saying this is that the minions focused on keeping their body fueled so as to remain productive. And, so should you and your team. Eat right to remain productive.

“Failure is information — we label it failure, but it’s more like, ‘This didn’t work, and I’m a problem solver, so I’ll try something else.’”

Taking Shortcuts

Some shortcuts are fine – even practical. Others short-circuit our spirit and deaden our lives. We want romance without the difficulties and messiness of committing to someone so different from ourselves. We want greatness without the risks and failures necessary in the adventure of real life. We desire to please God, but not when it inconveniences us.

Father, I will find the strength to do the work You have for me to do, only as I rely on Your Holy Spirit. Help me, please, to be sensitive to that today.

Most things worth doing are difficult.

This Uncle Andy is so clever hor…went and tell Mr. Horton’s Secretary & myself…once Uncle Andy joins the Marketing Department…Uncle Andy want to handle only the Key Turnaround Projects…the maintenance part let us do…so, Uncle Andy will be hogging the spotlight while Mr. Horton’s Secretary & myself…the unsung heroes lor

Approaching God

A time with God is an important moment when we engage the Almighty. God comes near to us as we draw near to Him in mutual involvement. He has assured us – I am with you always. Our heavenly Father is always waiting for us to come to Him, always ready to listen to us.

There are times when we struggle to pray because we feel tired, sleepy, sick and weak. But Jesus sympathizes with us when we are weak or face temptations. Therefore we can approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Lord, thank You that I can pray to You in all places at all times. Put the desire to come near to You in my heart. I want to learn to come to You in faith and in confidence.

God is everywhere, is available every time, and listen always.

10 defining characteristics of successful people

The one thing for certain about the road to success is that you will be met with challenges along the way.

When the journey becomes overwhelming, the average person may give in to challenges and let go of their goals. Others persevere to find their reward in success.

If you're keen to join the ranks of master achievers, here are the characteristics of successful people you'll want to develop.

1. They imagine.
You are limited by your imagination. Successful people are simply those who are better at imagination than the most of the rest.

2. They are optimistic.
Optimistic people choose hope instead of fear. Without hope for the desired outcome, there will not be any victory. In fact, hope doesn’t magically turn the bad circumstances around, turn everything to your favor without any price. However, hope offers the possibility, it offers the courage for another trial after the defeat. It makes you try again and again and again until you finally claim your victory.

3. They build winning habits.
A huge part of your life are your habits. Not only what you do can be habitual, how you think and how you feel are habitual too. Successful people know some habits are destructive, instead of being control by them, they master them by consciously building good habits.

4. They play by their own rules.
Most of them are not born with any unfair advantage, instead, they create their own unfair advantage. They play by their own rules by risking their life, working harder than everyone else, learning every single detail from scratch, and many other things that most people are not willing to do.

5. They persist.
I don’t think people with good ideas win, but people who took action. But not all people who took action win either, but people who took action and never give up.

6. They see thing as what it really is.
By seeing thing as what it really is, it means they see things most people can’t see. While successful people see opportunities with calculated risks, most people see fear. While successful people see contributions with possible returns, most people see greed. While successful people see better future with current sacrifices, most people see the instant fulfillment and gratification.

7. They leverage.
Some leverage cheap labors, some leverage technology, some leverage others’ talents, some leverage the market conditions. Successful people multiply their effort with leverage available to them.

8. They never stop learning.
Mark Cuban reads more than three hours every day. Arthur Blank, co-founder of Home Depot, reads two hours a day. Billionaire entrepreneur David Rubenstein reads six books a week. Dan Gilbert, a self-made billionaire and owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers, reads one to two hours a day. What is your excuses?

9. They contribute.
Successful people bring value to others. Recognition, fame, wealth, love, inner fulfillment - they all come when you contribute. To become successful, always find ways to give, not to get.

10. They define their own definition of success. You can achieve everything yet not feeling fulfilled if you set the standard based on someone else’s achievement. You can be successful today if you give up the definition of success set by others.

The More You Can Focus, the More You Can Achieve

Here are a few simple principles to help you stay focused:

The longer you work without a break, the greater the odds you will be working in a distracted state.

Attention is the greatest compliment you can give. When you are interacting with another person, show them that nothing else is more important — at that moment — than what they have to say. This single practice alone will do more to strengthen your relationships than any other tip I can offer. The more distracted our society becomes, the more meaningful this gift of attention will be.

Be just as focused on play as work. Time off is time to recharge; it's what provides energy for focused work. If you "relax" by constantly checking email, you're not actually relaxing. Make your breaks actual breaks.

How to Get Promoted By Year-end

Shift your mindset. Those who are willing to take a closer look as to how others view them in the workplace are more apt to successfully position themselves for the next promotion than those who chalk it up to bad luck. This means you have to be open to the possibility that you have some work ahead of you. Ask your boss for advice or engage the services of a coach, who can gather feedback from those above, below and around you.

Work on your qualifications. Look, I don't make the rules. Your employer does. This means that if a particular promotion is dependent on having some sort of certification or degree, then that's what you'll need to get to the next level. Keep in mind that some organizations will overlook these requirements, especially if an employee is currently working towards achieving these requirements.

Toot your own horn to be heard in a sea of cubicles.
Let's say you are currently pursuing more education. However, your boss has no idea this is going on or may have forgotten. It's your job to remind her of all the great things you are doing. Strategically brag about it. Your boss isn't a mind reader and has no idea of the work you do outside of work, nor does she have a full record of your accomplishments from previous jobs. This is where you come in. You need to weave your accomplishments into the conversation and help her connect the dots.

Invest in yourself. Contrary to popular belief, career development is not something that an organization owes you. It's something you owe yourself. Take advantage of whatever opportunities come your way to develop your skills. For example, if you're invited to attend a local industry meeting, by all means go. Even if this means you'll have to pay for your own dinner. This is a small investment in your future, which could pay off in spades. After all, if you aren't willing to invest in yourself, why should someone else? Order a subscription to a business publication, such as the Wall Street Journal, so that you can have conversations that are more peer like with those above you. This will help to differentiate you from your current peer group, which most likely is reading the local paper.

Invest in your wardrobe. I'm sure you've heard that you should dress for the position you want. This still holds true, in spite of the photos you see coming out of Silicon Valley, where everyone appears to be wearing a t-shirt and a pair of jeans. You don't have to go crazy and donate your entire wardrobe to Goodwill. Start small by investing in a few good jackets and go from there.

If You Don’t Fail, You Won’t Succeed

I’ve spent a lot of time recently talking about failure. It’s one of those words, just like sales, that gets a bad reputation. Failure isn’t a bad word!

At one time or another in our lives we will be faced with the fear of failure.

But if you don’t take that chance – take that first step forward, follow the path unknown – how do you know that you won’t succeed?

After all – we need to understand failure to be able to measure success, don’t we?

Failure is as a lesson that should catapult you into success – and I am certain that I wouldn’t be where I am today without failure.

I talk a lot about how I’ve excelled in business because I’ve made every mistake in the book. But never twice.
I teach my team – deal with your failure in two steps:
1 – Understand why you failed and what you learned.
2 – Get over it!

Most failures occur when we stretch ourselves beyond our limits. Maybe we have too much on our plate. Maybe we’re just seeing the end goal and not considering what it will take to execute flawlessly. Maybe the objective is unrealistic for some reason.

In these cases failure will do one of two things to us: it will either force us to cower into a safe place where comfort becomes more important than achievement; or it will stretch the limits of our ambition. The latter will inspire us to apply the lessons we learned from the failure to our next venture.

Of course, not every endeavor will prove to be successful. We win and we lose, and the unexpected can happen at any time.

So what happens when you don’t succeed?

Do you sink as low with failure as you fly high with success?

Not really. And if you do, we have to understand why.

I like to think of it this way – Life isn’t a game where every loss is subtracted from your list of victories. My mantra – Failure is never a disaster. For me, failure shows you how to improve, and how to work toward more and better victories in the future.

Everyone fails – we just can’t afford to dwell on it. All we can do is identify where and how we failed, choose the best way to avoid repeating it, then move on.

All failures carry lessons with them so what have you learned from yours?

10 regrets too many people will have in 10 years

Too often we waste our time waiting for the ideal path to appear, but it never does, because we forget that paths are made by walking, not waiting.

In the end, more than anything else, we regret the small chances we didn’t take, the priceless relationships we were too busy to nurture, and the good decisions we waited too long to make.

1. Not spending enough quality time with the right people.
At some point, you’ll just want to be around the few people who make you smile for all the right reasons. So today, spend more time with those who help you love yourself more — spend more time with those who make you feel good, and less time with those who you feel pressured to impress. Never be too busy to make room in your day for the ones who matter most. And remember that nothing you can give will ever be more appreciated than your sincere, focused attention — your full presence. Truly being with someone, and listening without a clock and without anticipation of the next event, is the ultimate compliment.

2. Not expressing your love openly and honestly with those you love.
Without question, you’re going to lose people in your life. Realise that no matter how much time you spend with someone, or how much you appreciate them, sometimes it will never seem like you had enough time together. Don’t learn this lesson the hard way. Express your love! Tell people what you need to tell them. Don’t shy away from important conversations because you feel awkward or uncomfortable. You never know when you might lose your opportunity. Is it really possible to tell someone what you feel? Yes, it is. They won’t always understand, because even when they’ve heard you, they can’t feel exactly what you feel inside. But you still have to speak up for your own peace of mind. If you appreciate someone today, tell them. If you have something else important to say, say it. Hearts are often confused and broken open by words left unspoken.

3. Basing a significant portion of your self-worth on other people’s opinions of you.

We tend to forget that most people judge us based on experiences from their own life that have absolutely nothing to do with us. For example, a person might assume things about you based entirely on a troubled past experience they had with someone else who looks somewhat like you. Therefore, basing any part of your self-worth on what they think puts you in limbo — you are literally at the mercy of their unreliable, bias perspective. If they see you in the right light, and respond to you in a positive, affirming manner, then you feel good about yourself. And if not, you feel like you did something wrong. The bottom line is that you will never find your worth in another human being — you find it in yourself, and then you will attract those who are worthy of your energy. And in the meantime, not overreacting or taking things personally will keep your mind clear and your heart at peace.

4. Being too busy impressing others and forgetting about what matters to YOU.
Ten years from now it won’t really matter what shoes you wore today, how your hair looked, or what brand of clothes you wore. What will matter is how you lived, how you loved, and what you learned along the way. So forget about impressing people for the sake of it. Be real instead! If you want to impress someone, impress yourself by making progress on something you’re sincerely proud of. Focus on what matters! It’s truly amazing what you can accomplish in a day when you aren’t incessantly worried about what everyone else in the world is thinking and doing. Just show yourself that you can grow and get better. It’s never about impressing or competing with others. In the end, it’s just you vs. you.

5. Letting uncertainty paralyze you.
Embrace uncertainty! Because some of the most incredible chapters of your life won’t have a title you feel comfortable with until much later. Living is risky business. Every decision, every interaction, every step, every time you get out of bed in the morning, you take a small, uncertain risk. To truly live is to know you’re getting up and taking that risk, and to trust yourself to take it. If you don’t — if you let uncertainty win — you will never know anything for sure, and in many ways this unknowing will be worse than finding out your hunch was wrong. Because if you were wrong, you could make adjustments and carry on with your life without ever looking back and wondering what might have been. Remember this, and find the courage you need! You don’t need guarantees 24/7. That’s not how life works. In life you can be comfortable or courageous, but not both at once.

6. Focusing on failures instead of opportunities.

Well, it’s true, you have failed and you have been hurt in the past. But it’s also true that you have loved, and been loved. That you have risked, and received. That you have grown not just older, but wiser. And all of this carries a weight of its own — a greater weight than any particular failure or wound. In fact, it’s better to have a life full of small wounds and failures that you learned from, rather than a lifetime filled with the regrets of never trying. Think about it! Have you ever seen a toddler learn to walk? They stumble and fall numerous times before getting it right. The falls are learning opportunities. Oftentimes it takes pain and patience to make lasting progress. So don’t let time pass you by like a hand waving from a train you desperately want to be on. Don’t spend the rest of your life thinking about why you didn’t do what you can do right now.

7. Holding on too tight to every ideal, and then missing out on real opportunities.

You can’t lose what you never had, you can’t keep what’s not yours, and you can’t hold on to something that does not want to stay. But you can drive yourself mad by trying. What you need to realize is that most things are only a part of your life because you keep thinking about them. Stop holding on to what hurts, and make room for what feels right! Do not let what is out of your control interfere with all the things you can control. In other words, say “goodbye” to what didn’t work out so you can say “hello” to what might. In life, goodbyes are a gift. When certain people walk away from you, and certain opportunities close their doors on you, there is no need to hold on to them or pray to keep them present in your life. If they close you out, take it as a direct indication that these people, circumstances and opportunities are not part of the next chapter in your life. It’s a hint that your personal growth requires someone different or something more, and life is simply making room.

8. Playing the victim for far too long.
If you always play the victim, you will always be treated like one. Life isn’t fair, but you don’t have to let the past define your future. Remember that time you thought you couldn’t make it through? You did, and you’ll do it again. Don’t let your challenges get the best of you. Don’t let your insecurities bully you into a corner. Don’t be your own victim! Take the next smallest step. The greatest of all mistakes is to do nothing simply because you can only do a little. And you can ALWAYS do a little! Where you are right now is necessary. Sometimes we avoid experiencing exactly where we are because we have developed a belief, based on our ideals, that it is not where we should be. But the truth is, where you are right now is exactly where you need to be to take the next smallest step forward.

9. Waiting, overanalyzing, and never taking the necessary steps.
Too often we waste our time waiting for the ideal path to appear, but it never does, because we forget that paths are made by walking, not waiting. Remember this! It’s easy to be lazy and wait around. It’s easy to waste another day. But you need to do the opposite! Decide what you want to accomplish and get it done. Action is worry’s worst enemy. Action is the best ammunition. Action brings progress! So do not confuse senseless movement with real action. Whenever you find yourself at a point of intense decision-making where you’re caught in a cycle of over-analysis and hesitation, and you’re making zero progress, take a deep breath, break the cycle, make an educated guess on the next logical step, and take it. Even if you get it wrong, you will learn something useful that will help you get it right. A daily ritual of small, positive steps is the ultimate key.

10. Being too busy to appreciate your life.

Take action, work hard, but don’t forget to pause and pay attention to life’s little moments too. That’s honestly the best advice there is. Realize that life is simply a collection of little chances for happiness, each lived one moment at a time. That some time each day should be spent noticing the beauty in the space between the big events. That moments of dreaming and sunsets and refreshing breezes cannot be bettered. But most of all, realize that life is about being present, watching and listening and working without a clock and without anticipation of results at every moment, and sometimes, on really good days, for letting these little moments fill your heart with intense gratitude. Truth be told, you will inevitably, whether tomorrow or on your deathbed, come to wish that you had spent less time worrying and rushing through your life, and more time actually being mindful and appreciative of each day.

Aww...so sad…why the producers have to break the both of them up? Why can’t the characters have their happily ever after…they should have a happy ending…they went through so much together...as a matter of fact, Alex & Maggie’s characters should explore the core issues like any LGBT couples do, yet...they still work it out, still staying together as a unit. An example to the society…

The Trusted Cross

I have blog so many stories…all save inside a pendrive and also in the Blogger web itself…one day…if I have left earth…will anyone discover my stories…read my stories…he or she…what will the reader think of me…will the reader be able to take away something from my stories…will my stories be an impact to the readers?

15-Minute Challenge

What if we spent fifteen minutes a day reading God’s Word?

Fifteen minutes a day adds up to ninety one hours a year. But for whatever amount of time we decide to read the Bible each day, consistency is the secret and the key ingredient is not perfection but persistence. If we miss a day or a week, we can start reading again. As the Holy Spirit teaches us, God’s Word moves from our minds to our hearts, then to our hands and feet – taking us beyond education & transformation.

God Calling

God’s deep desire for a relationship with us. From the very beginning, the Bible shows God actively pursuing us.

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me and pursuing a relationship with me.

Cleaning House

Bad habits learned do not disappear overnight. So, on a daily basis, we need to clean house, throwing away all that prevents us from fully loving others, growing. Then, in the new, clean space, we can experience the wonder of being freshly built by Christ’s power and life.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the new life You are building in us through our Lord Jesus. Help us to daily turn to You for cleansing and renewal.

Every day we can reject destructive habits and experience new life in Jesus.

Time To Flourish

God wants all people to flourish and has given extra time so that they can.

His patience is good news for all of us.

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

The Ultimate Good

Dear God, as I seek to live a good life, help me remember that knowing Jesus is the way to ultimate goodness.

We are good – and we please God – when our hope and faith are in Christ alone, not in our goodness.

Meet in Rain

On Tuesday, G13 has its annual Sales Conference @ Setia Convention Center. From its usual 2 days program – it was compacted into 1. This year, G13 outsource it to a third party…we have this flamboyant Dato’ Dr Lawrence Walter Ng & his angels as our trainer for that day. It was fun, very refreshing to level up our energy…but as Uncle Andy pointed out…G13 still did not state the strategies for 2018 and how to achieve them…for me, it was about systematic behavior correction & coordination…hahaha…

So, in one of the sessions…we were suppose to thank our team members…so, Ursula & myself approach each other…I mention thank you to her…Ursula said that I came back; but not back to Merchandising…I replied back – that it’s time to move out from the comfort zone and learn a new set of skills…which Ursula agree and I complimented that she is a fighter herself…from holding such a big Appliance portfolio previously, later on; being downgraded by Maximoff into looking after the Toys Category…

Yes, I’m back to G13 to move out from my comfort zone…to learn a new set of skills…for the good salary increment…I don’t want to lie here…at times, I am still clueless on what I am doing; as compared to being a buyer…but then again, I have been a buyer for the last 12 years…it have become routine. Yes, job fulfillment & job satisfaction is only so - so. Of course, additionally, the Trade Planning department in G13 is newly formed, the roles are not clearly defined yet, it’s not structured embedded in as well…but I can see that the unit is slowly being birthing out…so, I just have to wait for God to work on it then…

Developing The Steadfastness Of Hope

Here are 8 ways of developing steadfastness:

Be positive about trials as they produce steadfastness.

Do not be anxious or fearful because God is with us.

Have faith in God to give us wisdom and strength.

Affirm that the battle is God’s, not ours.

Worship God as if victory has been secured.

With thanksgiving, prayerfully commit our anxieties to God.

Believe that God’s power can do far more than what we ask or think.

Recalling god’s past faithfulness and mercies.

Joy Above All Circumstances

Our moods do rise and fall like the ocean waves. We can be happy at this moment, but the next moment, quickly sink into depression. Happiness is unpredictable as it depends on some favorable circumstances. Joy, on the other hand, is constant as it looks towards a faithful and unchanging God. Though the harvest failed and the farm animals died, Habakkuk could still rejoice in God.

Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation – Habakkuk 3:17-18.

Why? Because he knew that God is trustworthy and He will prove His faithfulness once again in the midst of such national crisis. Joy births forth when one comes to experience the truth of God.

Instead of constantly being worn down by the negative circumstances we face and unfavorable remarks we hear each day, we can now learn to put our hope in the One who causes the morning sun to rise. Choose, therefore, to rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation and be constant in prayer.

Hope In The Midst Of Despair

If we have ever been led by God, along the journey of our life, to a point where we feel that we have lost all our hope, it is there we have to remind ourselves that God has a purpose for doing so. His intention is always to allow us to experience Him deeper, in a sense, that Christ is our hope in the midst of our despair. We shall then encounter Christ more through this experience. The essence of Abraham’s faith is to believe that God makes that which is impossible possible. This faith has enabled him to experience God’s faithfulness continually in his life, and to witness the effect of his faith. There is a chain effect in this blessed life of Abraham. He was blessed and his descendants throughout all generations were to be blessed as well.

Principles Of Faith

Many times, our faith is weakened because of what we see with our eyes and the reality that is laid before us. Our perspectives will only lead us to pessimism and despair. Only when our principle of faith is put at the right perspective, and we allow God’s word to take root in our life as our sure foundation, then nothing, be it troubles or testing, can possibly separate us from the love of God. We must learn to rely on God more when we go through all these tests and is best done through our fervent and steadfast prayers. We can declare by faith, that God will surely accomplish great things, and no one is able to hinder or stop Him from doing so.

Chateau de Reve

I did the Critical Path template…I didn’t do it for the full mailer dates…only partially; as an example...then, I gave to Marcus to look through…Marcus told me to sexy it up the template…I didn’t do lor…was busy with the other stuffs mah…then the IT Director was pushing for the Critical Path process…so, Marcus have to step up and do lor…then, I learn something new…for the specific schedule dates…rupa-rupanya…there is a shortcut way to get it done…can use the Excel worksheet to calculate…I went and counted manually…adoi...feel so tedious at that point of time…and that is why I did the template half way…hahaha...seriously…the set of skills that I have in Merchandising, certainly did not prepare me for Trade Planning. It’s still about commercial merchandising but also going up a tier higher – the top management…well, I certainly hope…well, yes…it’s Marcus who re-design the look & feel of the overall template…but the idea, concept & format was mine…hahaha…even though it was a very much a half-baked effort…but most important of all, is to get everyone to toe the line and to get the G13 business back up on where it should be…

Red Hot Fire Dance

Hahaha…Marcus may be slightly kelam-kabut here and there…disorganized a little bit…but due to the previous Trade Planning experience…roughly a year plus…and under Maximoff's tutelage…Marcus have turn out to be quite efficient in delivering the performance; better than I expected…Marcus’s work also have substance & quality…and now I am learning excel…how to lead meetings…writing minutes from Marcus…
