Ormskirk
Yup, I have guess it right…today when Samuel & Mr. Horton’s Secretary left earlier…we did have a short discussion lah…Marcus will park Heidi & Erin under Samuel…so, Samuel will have work already lor…Events & Upscale…I did not mention my desire to do campaign to Marcus yet…just inform Marcus…let’s settle the backlog work first…delegate to us…we will get it done…let myself here be the hub to coordinate the back-end work…so, Samuel’s role is very clear cut now…only Mr. Horton’s Secretary & myself are not define yet…I guess I have to impress Marcus & the Merchants on the overall Summer campaign…then, maybe they will give me the chance to manage this small campaign.
God – please direct my steps, please guide me, please decide on my behalf, please act on my behalf, please disrupt on my behalf, please interrupt on my behalf, please motivate me, please give me pockets of encouragement & assurances...I declare my dependence on you God, please put Your sovereign hand on me, thanking You in advance for all of the future plans & blessings that You have in-store for me. Amen! THANK YOU GOD, PRAISE TO THE LORD, BLESS YOU GOD!
Ongar
Oklah, today I am also very naughty…usually, when there is any email…anything that is pertaining to Samuel’s portfolio…but not cc to Samuel, I will forward to Samuel one…don’t know this Marcus or Mr. Horton’s Secretary got do or not lah…if this Mr. Horton’s Secretary never do…by right, Samuel should know what type of person Mr. Horton’s Secretary is lah…for today’s meeting with Sir Terry & the Merchants…Marcus got send out the invites…Samuel was not invited…however, when we mention got meeting…Samuel pun masuk only lah…then, this meeting needs to have a second follow-up session…Marcus send out the invites again for next week Monday…Samuel was not cc in…I assume that Marcus just copy & paste only lah; from the first invites…I notice but I also didn’t brought it up lah…now, let’s test water…let’s see Marcus remembers or not…ya mah…you are the boss wei…and also to see Mr. Horton’s Secretary…what type of person she is…hahaha…and also to let Samuel feel a bit neglected...then I play the good role on Monday...purposely remind Samuel...ya mah...just to test Marcus & Mr. Horton’s Secretary...evil me…hahaha...
Olney
When I have one-to-one session with Mr. Horton’s Secretary…it is pretty much one-sided…I think Mr. Horton’s Secretary have very good opinions and she just keep everything to herself…but with Samuel…certain areas we can find commonality…like we are on the same wavelength and find it nothing wrong if Trade Planning is park back under Merchandising. Perhaps, it is much better that way because the Merchants won’t be seeing us as coming from a different gang, trust can be built easily, forward buying & planning plans can be shared easily. Even Samuel pointed out, that maybe our role can be like The English Commercial Team where we help Merchants to drive in the trade…anyway, the worst case scenario that could happen…is that we do not have the empowerment and become Promo Court only lor…but from today meeting with Sir Terry; looks like he is giving us the platform for Trade Planning & Merchandising to come together as one…
Ollerton and Boughton
Hahaha…Marcus’s observation…Heidi; not only looks naïve but also thinks too naïve…Erin; always say all is good, all is settle, ok…but actually nothing is being done & completed…cakap banyak only…for me; the both of them are an inexperienced pair of hands…hahaha…nonetheless, cannot underestimate people also…
Okehampton
Very weird leh…what happen was…the Festive Press Ad Review on every Friday…I take it that it belongs to Mr. Horton’s Secretary…she will lead...and I am 100% sure that Mr. Horton’s Secretary also claim that one is under her jurisdiction…so what happen was…the merchants already went into the war room…I told Mr. Horton’s Secretary that she better goes in first, I was still doing some work on my laptop…but hor…Mr. Horton’s Secretary’s body language was like…she was waiting for me leh…I expecting her to walk over to the room first wor…but no…Mr. Horton’s Secretary actually tunggu I wor…doesn’t make sense at all…hahaha…trust me…both Samuel & Mr. Horton’s Secretary will not acknowledge, recognize nor respect me as the leader…
Oakengates
Ursula…this name, I have not mention for a very long time in this blog…I do miss her lots…well, there will be a Merchant re-structuring soon…Ursula told Marcus which then share with me…hahaha…that Ursula will be transferred out from Miguel’s team and park under BabyWorld…yup, Miguel just wants Miguel’s own people…nonetheless, there are still 2 surviving people…Shawn & Christy…actually, good for me also…can go and kacau Ursula..hahaha…better career prospects for her lah...working with bigger suppliers, bigger portfolio, a destination category...

Touch Me Spots
Hahaha...today I tested water, but Marcus did not reveal much...there was a Regional meeting, so I took the opportunity to casual talk with Marcus lah...talking about Merchant re-structure first...then, I mention on the Marketing re-structure secondly...but this Marcus just answered me...yeah, most of the Team Leads are reporting to Regional now...sigh...ok, never mind, still give Marcus the space to breath...we will be having a team induction on Monday...see how it goes then...
Norton-on-Derwent
This Uncle Andy is also very teruk…commented that right now it’s also a good time for Marcus to ditch Trade Planning…since we are just doing the chasing, compiling & coordinating work only…adoi…and Marcus should seize the opportunity to take control of the Marketing Department; since gradually all of the Team Leads will start to report to Regional. If like that, Marketing will end up with a very lean structure…VSS can really take place…if like that I am a gone case for sure…God.....

Northleach with Eastington
If Marcus were to re-structure…I assume lah…Samuel will get to do the Events & Upscale part… Mr. Horton’s Secretary…since like to do analysis…can sit down and take care of the costing, budget, P&L lor…me leh…I assume Marcus will get me to do the back end work that align Merchants, Ops, Marketing & Supply Chain…but my personal desire is to touch a bit on Campaign…because that will anchor everything else…sigh…let’s see…won’t disturb Marcus…give Marcus the peace & quiet to consolidate and digest everything first…while I go and pretend to be resourceful, helpful & hardworking…hahaha…
North Walsham
Wash card…sai pai…hahaha…ok, let’s see how Marcus will do this…what happen was…a colleague drop by…Marcus was very busy…the colleague tell Marcus to pass everything for me to do…Marcus replied back that I am also busy with my own work…then, I mencelah masuk…I told Marcus, if have anything…just pass over and will get it done with…I volunteer mah...so, let’s see how Marcus will want to re-structure now…hahaha…
North Walsham
Today, Marcus is very good…can specifically name one person to help out…sigh; unfortunately, it’s not me…it’s Mr. Horton’s Secretary…Marcus ask Mr. Horton’s Secretary to take down the minutes for today S&M meeting…nonetheless, I get to lead the meeting during the second half because Marcus have another meeting appointment…sigh…I still have a long way to go in rounding up all of the merchants…I am still having problems in getting them to focus, aligning them, bringing them together to get the work done…nonetheless, all these are learnings for me to improve myself…I guess I am not upset with Mr. Horton’s Secretary…but am upsetting with myself for not bringing up or remembering those important points where as she can remember them…sigh…even though Mr. Horton’s Secretary is not a multiplier or a magnifier; I guess I am upset that she always mencelah masuk with points that I should be highlighting in the first place…sigh…and she like to work in silo...on her own and don't want to share...

14 Essential Leadership Skills During The 4th Industrial Revolution
Actively Agile
Due to the speed of change in the future workplace, leaders will have to be agile and able to embrace and celebrate change. Successful leaders during the 4th industrial revolution will see change not as a burden but as an opportunity to grow and innovate.
Emotional intelligence (EQ)
Just as employees will need a healthy amount of emotional intelligence, it will be critical for leaders in the future workplace to be able to perceive, understand and manage emotions—theirs and their team’s.
Humbly Confident
Tomorrow’s leaders will need to find a balance between confidence in their own abilities and decisions, and being humble about their place in the organization. Future leaders will take all the unique skills of the team working together to drive initiatives and leaders won’t be viewed as the critical cog to success. Tomorrow’s leaders will encourage others to shine.
Accountable
Leaders will need to earn the respect of their team by holding themselves accountable. The workplace of the future will become more transparent and collaborative. In this environment, it’s crucial for a leader’s actions to be in alignment with the company’s goals and objectives.
Visionary
In any organization there are multiple stakeholders and a future leader will need a big-picture vision and be able to understand how each stakeholder, whether it's employees, suppliers, shareholders or another, will be impacted by decisions. This requires a leader to strategically determine how to meet all stakeholders' needs effectively.
Courageous
There won’t be a clear roadmap to follow in the workplace of the future. This requires a leader to have the courage to face the unknown and navigate difficult circumstances. Possibly even more essential is the courage to change course in the event the situation calls for a new strategy.
Flexible
Leaders will need flexibility in the future to accommodate the shifting demands of workers, workspaces, and tools. What resulted in success in the past won't be the formula for tomorrow's success, so leaders need to flex to accommodate the new reality. And, the reality is expected to shift regularly, so leaders won't be able to be complacent.
Tech Savvy
The 4th industrial revolution fuelled by technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, robotics, internet of things, big data, augmented reality, and more. Just about every industry and company will change because of technology. Leaders will need to understand and have conversations and make decisions about technology. The ability to understand what tech can do for an organization is essential, and leaders must continuously embrace new platforms and tech tools.
Intuitive
As a result of the influx of machines into the future workplace, leaders will need to be even more human. A human’s intuition is the ability to “read” what’s not being said and is at the moment a uniquely human skill. A leader who is willing to have conversations around what’s not being said and to hear the good, bad and ugly from their team will be poised for future success.
Collaborative
Future leaders won’t stay in their corner office. It will be imperative that leaders in the future work alongside their employees and get to know their strengths and weaknesses to help them acquire new skills and help drive their professional development. They will be very collaborative.
Quick learners
Leaders will need to quickly assess a situation and learn what they need in order to make effective decisions. Along with this, they will need to be open to coaching and learning from the subject matter experts on their team.
Culturally intelligent
Our future workplaces will be diverse and global. Effective leadership requires someone adept at appreciating and leveraging the differences every individual brings to the team from their individual perspectives.
Authentic
With a multigenerational and multicultural workforce, leaders will need to exude authenticity. These are the ones best able to build connections and trust. Leaders will need to be authentic in times of uncertainty and failure just as they need to be when they are excited about success.
Focus
While the pace of the future workplace will be quick and it will require flexibility, a future leader will need to maintain focus on the objectives of the organization. They provide the stability employees need even when the pace of change could make it easy to pivot from one priority to another. A strong leader will be able to cut through the chaos and make sure everyone knows what’s important.
North Petherton
Sigh...there will be a re-structuring at the Merchant's side...heard that it got sign off too...only awaiting for the official announcement...no one from that side approach me lor...meaning no chance liao lor...how lah...
North Hykeham
Hahaha...Marcus is so busy today; to the max...then, all of a sudden; Marcus call out J___...hahaha...I told Marcus...just delegate all out, we will help...already signal to Marcus that we (or maybe me specifically; and not Samuel or Mr. Horton's Secretary) is willing to take up some load...God, if tomorrow timing & planning is right...please give me the opportunity to volunteer to take up some of the pending projects; it will be good to add value and to enhance further on currently what I am doing...
Newton-le-Willows
Sigh...today want to get Marcus's attention is also difficult...this Heidi really pa gie Marcus...every single minute of the day...sikit-sikit also Marcus...Erin also starts to sneak in already...only Anis still very good...maybe notice that Marcus is so busy with Heidi & Erin, Anis still keep to herself first. I only manage to brief Marcus when the day was about to end...sigh...now, I must also find the opportunity to mencelah masuk...I must volunteer at something that is beyond my job scope now...
Where Are You Headed?
Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord.
The Lord will watch over your coming & going both now and forevermore.
Sometimes our obstacles can seem insurmountable. But God invites us to look to Him to help us see beyond our torubles instead of letting them dominate our perspective.

Me: Wow, u really got strong supplier support
Peggy: Haha, only u have the sharp eyes. No one notice it
Me: Buyer mah. How can not notice all these…
Yes, I am also desperate…looking at every opportunity to save my ass…hahaha…I don’t know…hopefully this Magnifier & Multiplier will take notice, remember me and can provide a strong word of mouth to anyone that is higher up…I am also scared; to the max...
On the other hand…takkan her buyers / Ops tak perasan this kut…impossible...
Newport Pagnell
This is how G13 does its VSS – Last In First Out…it’s not about a person's capability or competency…it’s not whether the works tasks can be outsourced or not (in order to save cost)…it’s Last In First Out…that means all of the old timers will still be around…sigh…no wonder, those who wish to have it; will not get it...and those who don't; got it...if that is the case…I lost…the ultimate winner will be Marcus…Samuel will be safe…Mr. Horton’s Secretary will stay put…this is very heart-breaking…nonetheless, in times like this…I can only pray, call on the Lord, and wait…
Sentebale ISPS Handa Polo Cup
My observation pula…this Heidi is trying to get Marcus’s attention everyday…grabbing every opportunity to ambil Marcus’s punya hati…then this Samuel & Mr. Horton’s Secretary pula…not much movement from them yet…but I guess they are already discussing, plotting, scheming something among the both of them…their plan is brewing…sigh…
Fiumicino Airport
Samuel’s observation >> Erin will not kacau Marcus unless the problems have blown out of proportion and beyond control…Heidi will kacau Marcus for everything…from head to toe, from A – Z…everything have to asks...looks like this Heidi cannot make decisions at all...

Newcastle-under-Lyme
My take is that Samuel should join forces with Heidi & Erin…Samuel can plan the trade; Heidi & Erin can do the execution part…now, is really see how Marcus will manage the whole thing…today, I overheard that Marcus wants Samuel to be involve in the Penang project…I think Heidi also overheard…then, thereafter…I feel Heidi’s body language was to get Marcus’s attention and show off capability at the same time…hahaha…I feel pity that Samuel have no real work in hand at the moment…Marcus also notice that…otherwise won’t ask me to pass some job to Samuel right…but the thing is, would Heidi & Erin be ok to be park under Samuel…Samuel have the knowledge, is capable & well-experience…it will help Marcus a lot; otherwise everything have to refer to Marcus, have to wait for Marcus to decide…this week and next week, I will just be watching this Marcus’s show…hahaha…
Newbiggin-by-the-Sea
A little #throwback…during a meeting on one of the Press Ad planning working group, Marcus was sitting down at a corner lah…the room was small, chairs was fully occupied, so I was standing up lah…Sir Terry ask me to explain in more detail on why we are doing that particular press ad…wah, took me completely by surprise…I got jawab…hopefully it was good enough…hahaha…
Newark-on-Trent
This Mr. Horton’s Secretary is also very licik…I told Mr. Horton’s Secretary that we are boss-less this morning…because Marcus went for the store relaunch mah…then Mr. Horton’s Secretary baru cakap, that Mr. Horton’s Secretary got apps Marcus; whether need to go or not…Marcus jawab no need wor…hahaha…see, didn’t share in the WatsApp Chat Group…secretly apps Marcus personally…cheh…
New Romney
Yes, finally this morning Marcus mention my name in the WatsApp Chat Group…the Trade Plan one lah…not the Merchants, Ops & Supply Chain one…never mind…still I THANK YOU GOD, PRAISE TO THE LORD, BLESS YOU GOD…because Marcus have improvement already…can mention 1 specific name…hahaha…
New Alresford
This Samuel also…Heidi always comes in late for work in the morning, always arriving between 10.30am to 11.30am…I told Samuel, let Marcus handle…then Samuel said if Heidi comes on time, then our lunch hours must also be on time…then I replied to Samuel…correct, precisely…so, before we say people, we have to look at ourselves first. The 3 of us may walk in punctually in the morning, and go home later in the night…but our lunch hours punctuality is also koyak…so, let Marcus manage…hahaha…G13 really spoiled me rotten…
Needham Market
This Samuel is very good…when people come over and ask for something, and when Samuel is unsure…Samuel will ask me…this Mr. Horton’s Secretary…tak ada langsung…I notice a few times already…Mr. Horton’s Secretary will not bother to ask me; regardless whether I know or I don’t know…Mr. Horton’s Secretary somehow will not direct the person to me…want to isolate me away like that...tak ada team work langsung…also selfish; tak nak senangkan kerja orang yang tanya…

Sometimes, this Marcus is kind of a pelupa…but sometimes remember pula…that day Marcus said that Marcus wants to buy butter…I casually ask – can you please bake me a cake…Marcus betul-betul buat…sayang kat I kut…hahaha…I am likeable mah…
Much Wenlock
I volunteered already…I am taking the initiative leh…but like got no response from Marcus leh…on Thursday morning, there is a store relaunch…Marcus will need to attend; together with Heidi...Marcus got ask me whether I want to go or not…I said that I will stay back in the office and stand by for the Friday Press Ad; in case anything happen…I told Marcus to put in the Merchants WatsApp Group chat to remind everyone on the list submission…of course, at the same time…I am also hoping that Marcus will mention my name lah…but hor…nampaknya my effort tak buahkan hasil…hahaha…
Moreton-in-Marsh
Hahaha…this Samuel…in a teasing way…told Marcus & Heidi…that Marcus needs to take care of the 3 of us as we are the original children while the other 3 are adopted…kata isi hati sudah keluar from mulut Samuel…I think Marcus will park the events under Samuel…it's time for Samuel to start doing some work...but would Heidi want Samuel to be at the top…
Moretonhampstead
Uncle Andy: you can start to think if you want to branch out to do event/campaign
Actually, this should benefit Samuel…this is what Samuel wanted to do in the first place; according to Mr. Horton’s Secretary lah…
Now, is really see how Marcus want to start the ball rolling…Marcus can park Heidi & Erin under Samuel to do events…keep Mr. Horton’s Secretary as the Analyst…I can do the functional & operational work lor…and dabble a bit in the loyalty program lor…I will just be myself…now, really see Marcus’s doing…whether Marcus can divide & rule beautifully or not…hahaha…
Minchinhampton
This is really a game changer…today Lord Alfonso announced that Christopher will have a new portfolio to work in…thus, all of the current job tasks that are under Christopher will be park under Marcus…oh dear, Marcus’s plate is not only full…it’s over spilling out right now…hahaha…so now we have Heidi, Erin & Anis joining us…now, this will be the very interesting part…how will Marcus’s delegate…Marcus know how to delegate or not…or Marcus dare to delegate or not…hahaha…

An Alternative To Worry
Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
When problems are on the horizon for us, maybe we can try the following two-step approach.
Take action and trust in God. If we can do something to avoid the problem, let’s try that route. We can pray for God to guide us to an action we should take.
But if there’s nothing we can do, we can take comfort in knowing that God never finds Himself in such a predicament. He can always act on our behalf. We can always turn our situation over to Him in trust & confidence.
When it feels like time to worry, may we turn to the inspired words of King David, who faced his own share of difficulties and worries, but concluded: Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you. What a great alternative to worry.
Father, You know what faces me today. I am turning my cares over to You. Please strengthen me and help me to trust You with the struggles I face.
Infinite Dimensions
The Finance Department already VSS half of their team…HR; around 20 of them kena…which department will be next?
I will be lying if I say that I am not scared…of course I am scared…somemore I am the last in first out…looking at the current scenario; those who want VSS didn’t get it…those who didn’t want receive the notification…I have bills to pay, I have expenses to cover, I have 2 senior citizens at home…
God’s love is all around us
Wide: He extends His arms to reach all people everywhere
Long: His love never ends
High: He lifts us up
Deep: He dips down, holding us in all situations
Midsomer Norton
See, this Mr. Horton’s Secretary is damn evil & selfish…the other day, when both Samuel & she is not around, I have to help in running the reports mah…Mr. Horton’s Secretary just told me to run the reports as per usual can already…but on last week Friday, I overheard that Mr. Horton’s Secretary have prepared a template for Samuel…Mr. Horton’s Secretary will be on leave, so Samuel have to back-up…see, Samuel have a ready-made template, I tak ada langsung, have to waste time to replicate those reports…ini betul-betul tak boleh harap…

Giving the Gift of Time
Just a few thoughts on how to make the gift of time this holiday season matter more:
1. The TIME to READ. I have begun one book, have even selected the next and can actually see myself wrapped in a cozy corner fully immersed in someone else's story — a time traveler to another century and location happily subsumed in the escape of a great story that reminds me that the world is not about me. The opportunity to learn about other cultures, history being made, all without leaving our living room — I am so in!!
2. The TIME to SLEEP. I am not sure how Arianna Huffington has become my sleep guru, but she has. Her admonition that we can sleep our way to "increased productivity and happiness" is deeply embedded in the research. So, while my kids are beyond the age of legislated nap times, we will encourage upper lids meeting lower lids whenever the spirit moves us. The opportunity to talk about the importance of sleep will also be added to the family conversation with our two college kids...talk about lives of busy.
3. The TIME to CONNECT. I am absolutely looking for some quality time with people in my life. Thinking about those who matter much to me and because of “BUSY” time and distance, I feel a bit disconnected. Taking the time to connect fills the soul — a call, a note, a coffee, dinner, lunch, even a text. While not looking to overload the schedule, the time spent letting those who matter to you know you are thinking of them is good for all of you.
4. The TIME to LAUGH and HAVE FUN. What are those things that bring you the most pleasure? You know what they are. Mine, of course, include reading, sleeping, connecting, and also laughing out loud. Perhaps some skiing and hiking, and taking the time to appreciate deeply just how blessed I am with the TIME we have on this earth.
This year, join in giving the gift of time to your loved ones and yourself. Take time to connect with family, grab a holiday lunch with your best friend, or steal away for a moment to be kind to yourself. I am going to try to double down on this. Funny, as I think about it, one of the types of things I am eagerly anticipating is a stack of notes to send to those who have been so thoughtful over these past months.
Medlar-with-Wesham
Ok, I will volunteer…THANK YOU GOD, PRAISE TO THE LORD, BLESS YOU GOD!
SW is running this Hidup Sihat Kurang Gula campaign…only ajak Marcus & myself to the supplier meeting…hahaha…since Marcus’s plate is so extremely full these days…I will volunteer to pick it up…yes, it will certainly mean more work for me…but I get to learn the soft skills which I believe I really lack in – from communication to listening, negotiating, coordination, compilation, presentation, the everything lah…so now I have Microsoft Teams Working Group, Backway and Non Halal Area Store Floor Space Working Group, Peggy’s Merchandising, Supply Chain & Ops Working Group and this SW Campaign Working Group to work on…ok, jia you, jia you…hahaha…
Market Weighton
Don’t know what is Samuel’s intention is…could be good, could be very bad…today Samuel ask me to discuss with Marcus or Lord Alfonso to apply for any regional position, it's good for career & personal development wor…since internally some merchants are also applying for the Regional Category Management role…hahaha…maybe Samuel is more sinister than Mr. Horton’s Secretary…after I leave, Samuel will step in and play my current role lah…mereka berdua also teruk betul…hahaha…
Market Rasen
I have to say that it’s all Marcus’s fault…just imagine; both Samuel & Mr. Horton’s Secretary is so free, until the both of them can jalan at the downstairs store…walk bay by bay…then proceed to Bazaar Ramadhan (which I join in lah)…I can see lately that Marcus’s plate is very full…so I guess that, if Marcus is not delegating, then I have to volunteer for work assignment already…this Samuel & Mr. Horton’s Secretary know that they are very free, I am curious on why they don't want to volunteer themselves...yes, at times, it's memang kerja bodoh...kind of wasting time & effort but this subtle thingy also helps to drive trade on a small scale...

Your Job As A Leader Is Not To Be An Expert. It's To Be An Expert Learner.
When People Ask You How You Are, Stop Saying "Busy"
Instead of hopelessly waiting to be given the gift of more free time, consider what high-achievers do to stay focused and accomplish large, long-term goals. They:
1. Accept that time is a precious and fixed resource
2. Know how to separate Urgent from Important
3. Align their top priorities with their core purpose and or core values
4. Don’t book 100% of their time; they value rest and relaxation
5. Constantly look for things that they should stop doing
6. Are selective about the people they give their energy to
Quote of the Week: “The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it.”-Henry David Thoreau
Market Drayton
6 Things I Learned from Jeff Weiner
1. Never shy away from speaking up: Even when Jeff was an intern, he offered his thoughts. When he had no business experience, he helped with a business plan. Regardless of how little experience you have, share your opinions and ideas.
2. Manage Compassionately: Though most people in western society typically use empathy and compassion interchangeably, there’s a fundamental difference between the two. Jeff shared a teaching from the Dalai Lama that explains it this way: Picture yourself walking along a mountainous trail. You come across a person being crushed by a boulder on their chest. The empathetic response would be to feel the same sense of crushing suffocation, thus rendering you helpless. The compassionate response would be to recognize that that person is in pain and doing everything within your power to remove the boulder and alleviate their suffering. Put another way, compassion is empathy plus action.
3. Practice Mindfulness: Take time to be reflective and think about what’s bothering you. Jeff urged us to take a moment to see why we are reacting the way we are reacting. We are wired to be egocentric, to see the world through our own perspective. Instead, he advised us to become a spectator to our own thoughts. “You can’t address it until it’s out of your own head.” I know meditation teachers say this helps you “respond, not react.” Makes good common sense to me.
4. Have walking 1:1s: This started accidentally when LinkedIn ran out of conference space and Jeff had 2-3 meetings a day outside. He explains walking 1:1s can be uniquely powerful because you are away from the office, no one is glued to their devices, and, in some cases, when you aren’t forced to make direct eye contact it’s easier to be more forthcoming.
5. Spend time thinking every day: Jeff shared that 8-9 years ago he struggled with something so many of us do: he believed he had to schedule every minute. “And any free time meant I wasn’t doing my job.” Now he builds in a “buffer” of 90 minutes a day (broken down into 30- to 90-minute blocks) to catch his breath, think big, catch up on the latest industry news, get out from under that pile of unread emails, or just take a walk. He says he got over the guilt of having this unstructured time as he realized these breaks were not only important, they were absolutely necessary in order for him to do his job.
6. Create trust by showing vulnerability: If you are constantly vulnerable you are anxious. But if you are never vulnerable people will not trust you. Where’s the balance? Feel it out.
Market Deeping
Yeah…thinking back…maybe it was a wrong move…I shared this with Uncle Andy, Samuel & Mr. Horton’s Secretary…we will be having a Murah Giler Leaflet…Murah Giler means Crazy Price…but this time around, there are 3 promo mechanic that will anchor this leaflet…my stand to Marcus is that we should have one…1 mechanic to rule them all…to synchronize the campaign, the message, the brand, the feature promo space & the POSM…but in the end, Marcus gives the multiple promo mechanic the green light to proceed…so I also just follow lor…I also told them, actually Marcus & I have plenty of disagreements on many fronts. Uncle Andy seems to be impressed…I am not that follower after all, I actually have a backbone…hahaha…but the biggest threat is that…both Samuel & Mr. Horton’s Secretary will strategize to overthrow me…ya lor, stupid me…always say the wrong things…kadang-kadang want to show off pula, but at the salah tempat & salah orang…never use my brain…sigh…
Market Bosworth
Samuel share with me…that in yesterday S&M meeting…Samuel felt that the Merchants & Ops see us as the small little girls & anak kucing wor...so, indirectly meaning me lor…like a small kid chairing a very important meeting with the big boys which I am unable & incapable to handle…tak apa; it’s just a comment…I will learn lah…no big deal…
Macclesfield
Hahaha…actually hor, besides Samuel, Mr. Horton’s Secretary & myself are vying for Marcus’s attention, tender, loving, care...in come Heidi…hahaha…actually this Heidi is under Christopher…but somehow along the way, Christopher dislike Heidi and is currently cold storaging-Heidi…as Marcus is currently in charge in some store relaunching thingy, Christopher delegate the work to Heidi lor, so at times Heidi need to follow-up with Marcus…and this Heidi is also very clever to sneak in to get the attention and furthermore this Heidi is playing the cute & mulut manis card…hahaha…I will let the 3 of them compete among each other lah…I just go and do my thing…
Mablethorpe and Sutton
See, this Mr. Horton’s Secretary is so mengada-ada, want to steal the thunder, kononya ada buat homework…what happen was, tomorrow we have Raya Promo Space Floor Walk mah...Mr. Horton’s Secretary left the office early, I went back late…then when I leave the office, I saw Mr. Horton’s Secretary baru want to leave the car park…so meaning that Mr. Horton’s Secretary went down to the store lor…sure want to take a sneak peek lor…then, just now Mr. Horton’s Secretary WatsApp in the group on the English’s Raya Display…cheh…nak tunjuk ada buat kerja…such a show-off…fine, again…I will not retaliate…the best revenge is living the best life ever…hahaha…

Let’s see…whether this Mr. Horton’s Secretary rajin or not, to take up these tasks…like Uncle Andy said; it's no man’s territories, see whether you want to seize them or not…we have a Promo Charter that governs the Dos & Don’ts of the Leaflet…but mana tahu along the way…all of the rules also kena langgar, plus we also don’t have a very strong & strict gate-keeper, thus ended up with no compliance from head to toe etc…so, I told Mr. Horton’s Secretary the only way to go about it on the duplication of items, duplication of supplier activities is actually building up their manual product list (I only do for the Press Ad ya) and also to look into their artwork checking lor…see whether this Mr. Horton’s Secretary got do or not…
Littlehampton
Hahaha…didn’t know that I have left such a strong impression on Rodrigo…Rodrigo have a couple of times mistaken that I have work under him before…sedangkan tak pernah…the memory imprinted in Rodrigo’s mind was in the Atticus’s era…
Letchworth Garden City
Today, Marcus is on leave…so, I chair the S&M meeting lor…Mr. Horton’s Secretary banyak cakap…when Marcus was chairing it…Mr. Horton’s Secretary tutup mulut aja…but when it is my turn, banyak pula comment…and of course, we as a total Marketing Division also have no strong battle plan…so when Uncle Andy gertak me…this Samuel & Mr. Horton’s Secretary duduk diam aja, buat-buat bodoh…but behind Uncle Andy, banyak comment non stop and critics also aplenty…yet work don’t want to do so much…adoi…
Leigh-on-Sea
Hmm…so Samuel also want a piece of the territory too…what happen was…all this while, the Leaflet Sales Report is done by Mr. Horton’s Secretary mah…so, what happen was…Samuel step up wor…we always advertise the Whole Chicken @ RM5.99 at the bottom of the cover page…Mr. Horton’s Secretary just churn the report only…what Samuel did was, Samuel run a report to see whether the Whole Chicken got bring in total uplift or not…added value work wor...only that Samuel haven't shared out with Marcus yet...I wonder how Mr. Horton’s Secretary will feel…good also, let the both of them berlaga…but I also take stock that the both of them can also bergabung, berkomplot & overturn me as well…sigh…
